What is Cranio-Sacral Therapy?

Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) is a form of gentle therapeutic touch that focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the body. The cranio-sacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord as well as the attached bones, including the skull, face and mouth, which make up which make up the cranium, and the tailbone area, or sacrum. As the client lies quietly and fully clothed, the practitioner uses light pressure at selected points around the head, torso, knees, and feet. The goal of CST is to get rid of restrictions in the cranio-sacral system and to help improve the functioning of the central nervous system. This therapy has shown to alleviate migraines, chronic neck/back pain, chronic fatigue, TMJ, central nervous system disorders, as well as other conditions.
